WHO IS THIS CRAFTSMAN/ ALLIGATOR HUNTER?

🐊 It’s All About the Game
From Florida’s Everglades to Palm Beach — A Story of Craft, Conservation, and Character
Born and raised in the heart of Palm Beach, Florida, Brian William Jones grew up surrounded by salt air and sunshine. His childhood was spent on the water — sailing the shores of Palm Beach with his family aboard his father’s sailboat. Back and forth along the coast, those early days sparked a lifelong love for fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors.
That passion for Florida’s wild places never faded. In 2005, Brian became a state-licensed alligator trapper with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, helping manage the delicate balance of wildlife in the Everglades. What began as a part-time role soon evolved into a mission: preserving Florida’s natural ecosystem through respect, skill, and stewardship.
🌴 Conservation Meets Craft
An engineer by trade and craftsman by heart, Brian understands precision, patience, and purpose. Working closely with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, he not only harvested responsibly but also taught classes at the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) in Fort Lauderdale — sharing his expertise in alligator hunting, safety, and ethical practices.
Over the years, he’s guided hunters from across the nation through the Florida wetlands, offering hands-on experience and education on conservation, wildlife management, and the importance of respecting the resource.
Brian’s dedication to Everglades preservation and Florida’s wild heritage remains at the core of his work.
🪶 A Heritage of Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship runs deep in Brian’s family. His great-grandfather emigrated from Wales to New Hampshire in 1886, becoming a leader in the textile industry — a legacy of creativity and workmanship that continues generations later. His parents and brother are also skilled artisans, carrying on a family tradition of craftsmanship and pride in their work.
That same hands-on passion drives Brian’s artistry today. He has built his own boats and airboats from scratch, and every wallet, belt, or money clip he creates is handcrafted — never refined by industrial machinery.
His leather remains raw, rugged, and real — just like the Florida alligators and python snakes from which it’s made.
🐊 The Story Behind the Hide
Each hide Brian uses comes from licensed Florida hunters who participate in the state’s conservation tag lottery. These alligators are born to endure — surviving predators, swamps, and Florida’s intense climate. Their hides tell that story through every mark, ridge, and grain.
Rather than polishing away those natural textures, Brian preserves them. The result?
Tough, distinctive pieces that reflect Florida’s wild resilience — heirlooms for those who value authenticity over perfection.
📜 A Palm Beach Original
Through Palm Beach Alligator Leather, Brian brings his Everglades heritage to a new audience — blending old-world craftsmanship with modern Florida style.
Each product is one-of-a-kind, handcrafted with the same integrity and respect that guided Brian from the swamps to the workshop. From the alligator harvest to the finished product, every step is part of a story — one that honors the animal, the land, and the maker.
Today, Brian is married and a proud father of two daughters. One of them is married to a charter captain in Islamorada — Captain Coffin — continuing the family’s deep connection to the water. From the Everglades to the Atlantic, the Jones family legacy carries on through craftsmanship, conservation, and a love of Florida’s great outdoors.
